We have discovered the secret behind the Best Macaroni Salad ever! It's such a great and easy recipe and reminds me of my favorite Hawaiian macaroni salad from our time visiting my in-laws in Oahu. Using a few extra ingredients makes the dressing have a unique flavor that is delicious.

A good mac salad recipe is life changing. It goes perfectly alongside your favorite burger or steak, and of course, it reminds me of my time in Hawaii. Celery and carrot or classic for Hawaiian mac salad. The addition of a bit of soy sauce really gives a savory flavor that brings this together into a unique and delicious option you will want more of at every barbecue.
We use Barilla Gluten Free Elbow Macaroni for our pasta salad. You can also use any generic pasta or a lentil pasta. Pasta brands vary on point values, so I highly recommend checking in the recipe builder to make sure you are getting the right points value for your pasta.
Ingredients for Best Macaroni Salad
8 ounces elbow macaroni
½ cup fat-free mayonnaise
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper
3 stalks celery, diced
¼ cup grated carrot
Directions for Best Macaroni Salad
Cook elbow macaroni according to package directions. Drain, and pour into large bowl.
Add all ingredients together and mix until macaroni is well coated and all ingredients are combined.
Add salt to taste, if needed.
Refrigerate before serving.

I confess to being a pasta addict. This is a great substitute for my favorite Hawaiian mac salad and is seriously delicious. We serve it with other zero point foods like our grilled chicken kebabs, our balsamic grilled pork chops, or a large side salad with zero point toppings. It's easy to add to your routine as a great side dish that everyone will enjoy.
